When you have only two pennies left in the world, buy a loaf of bread with one, and a lily with the other. Chinese Proverb

Chicago Ruby is one of the best, truest reds you can find.

Coral Cay

Lilac Lady

Newberry Festival

Virginia Henson is so tiny and perky, and the red looks like a lipstick kiss.

Million to One is a very delicate ivory with a pale blush. Just beautiful.

Janice Brown makes nice clumps of little blossoms.

Calgary Stampede, for my Canadian friends, is a huge, sturdy one.

These last two are orential hybrid lilies.

Daylilies are one of my favorite flowers/plants. I have been to a local daylily farm and did a series of posts on it. The farm/site owner let me use her photos and although she had so many I just chose the most fun names. Come by and see the most beautiful varieties that I posted about.

I especially like "Janice Brown", but I have been disappointed in daylilies in my garden. The amount of sun I get makes the daylilies all point in a certain direction, which unfortunately is away from the front of the garden. They don't bloom as heavily as they would in more sun either. It's such a disappointment, especially when I see your lovely plants! Thanks for stopping by!

Your Lilies are just beautiful. I love this time of the year when they are in bloom. Thanks for the tip on the Chicago Ruby and its red color. I have been looking for a true red one.

I love Asiatic lilies, like the last two in your photos here. Their scent is usually strong and hypnotic.

I love your daylilies! Janice Brown is one of my favorites, too. The tetraploid flowers are beautiful, but the foliage is so humongous. I'm leaning to the diploids again, because their foliage is more in scale with other plants around them and the flowers are so adorable. Great post!

Pat, we love daylilies, too! It's a treat to see what's blooming in your garden. A couple of other lovely reds are 'Indy Rhapsody' and 'Serena Dancer.' We also like 'Ruby Throat' for a pretty red. 'Virginia Henson' is so pretty. We have that one as well as other Siloams. Love the tiny blossoms. If you do, too, look for 'Mary Ethel Anderson.' The blossom is very small. Such a cute little daylily. Thanks for sharing your lovely blossoms! ~~Rhonda

I have a Stargazer (I think). I bought it on clearance a few years ago and it didn't have a tag. This is the first year that it has really produced more than 1 or 2 blooms.
