Thanksgiving 2011

Well, at 5:08 am, I got my table set for Thanksgiving......so might as well do Tablescape Thursday! Thank you Susan for taking the time to host for us.... um..... last minute people.

There will be only 4 of us today, but they are the most important ones!

You won't see these overused acorn plates again.... until next year.

I went with coppery browns, and neutrals this year, with a little blue and white to brighten it up. My grandma's napkins are huge compared to the ones you buy today, so I rolled them and secured with a little ribbon.

I like the coppery tea lights at each place.

Mom is getting a little surprise at  her place. As soon as I saw this little squirrel, I laughed out loud in the store and scooped him up. She battles the squirrels on her deck all year, as she tries to feed the birds. Not her favorite critter!

Beautiful table, Pat. The blue/white turkey plates are a great choice to go with the acorn plates...I will miss seeing them! I am hoping to find some while out thrifting this coming year.
I laughed when I read about your mother battling those greedy little tree rats, um, I mean squirrels!
Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours!

I really like your table setting, the neutral colours, the simple yet effective centerpiece and everything is sized perfectly for the smaller round table. The pretty tablecloth makes a lovely background. Hope your mom likes the "guest" at her place setting!
Happy Thanksgiving!

I just love this tablescape...the autumn color and then the blue plates just look beautiful!! Love the squirrel and she has my sympathy. I love having the birds at the feeder (a "squirrel proof" one) but the squirrels spend quite a bit of time trying to outsmart the feeder!!

Hope your Thanksgiving was wonderful and that your mother liked her "surprise"!!!

It may have been last minute but your Thanksgiving table looked beautiful.
I love to use vintage linen napkins too, the bigger the better!
Thanks for stopping by earlier.

What a beautiful tablescape and what a beautiful post! I loved every word and photograph! I'm sure each person at that table was thankful for the time you took to make it so special for them.

Your table is so pretty, Pat! One doesn't often think of adding blue to fall decor, but your turkey plates really make the browns and golds sing.
